Just had an email from my friend Ricky Davis and his other half Miss Leslie, they are coming over for a couple of gigs up north (Newcastle way) Shame its too earley for my steelies meeting twood have been great to have him attend as he is a fine player and Miss Leslie sings a good toon or two....

Ricky told me they are doing gigs in the north of England, and had hoped to do one in Scotland but unfortunately it fell through, then they are flying to Shetland for a gig then onto Norway where they are doing a festival.He was worried about having to fly with his steel, and I believe John is fixing him up with a guitar for his shows.If you haven't heard him play live you should catch one of their shows, excellent player, and a real nice guy, I have had the pleasure of doing a few shows with him in Glasgow when he toured with Dale Watson a few years back.

Have just heard from Ricky, he is having problems getting a steel to use for his North East gigs in July.Will post actual dates as soon as I get them.Can any body help him out with use of steel.Malcolm

Malcolm, It is only one gig in Newcastle as I understand it, he has a steel lined up for the Shetland gig and Norway..... The problem is getting a steel from Cambridgeshire to Newcastle and back. If it were a more local gig to me I would have no problem helping out but I don`t know many steelies in the Newcastle area......
Ricky loves ShoBud and I have a friend in Peterborough that has an LDG Emmons set up that would do the job, (he has offered it before) but its the logistics that would be the problem.........

John, that's my problem as well, would be best part of a six and a half seven hour round trip to get my Millenium to him.Maybe someone in Newcastle Area will be able to help.
