Howdy y'all,

I'm out in Nashville at the moment and I went to the GOO last night. It got me thinking- does anyone know any
British Steelies that have graced the Opry stage? If so, I'd love to chat to them. I'm putting together a short documentary
about Nashville and I think it'd add a lovely segment!

Many thanks,
John

I have graced the stage. However it was only to meet a couple of the musicians after the show finished.

Incidently, I went 3 times in April. On one show which was the second house on a Saturday night, the theatre was only about 25% full - tops. Quite sad, but proof that even the Opry can't sustain 2 shows a night.

Thanks Ken! Yes when I went in May they didn't seem to be running a second show on the Saturday. It's certainly an experience though. It'd be great if anyone knows any steelies who've played there, or even Nashville scene in general!

Hi John,
Hope this may be of some help. 'Jammie Lennon', steel player (Birmingham, England) & engaged to Georgette Jones did a memorial/tribute show to the late 'Tammy Wynette' at the GOO on the 28th May. Now set up home and lives in Nashville. More info and contact details from Georgette's web site, or Facebook.

It must have been a great pleasure and privelage for him, or any other muso to play the GOO :D

regards Jim

I also believe Allan Thompson form Elgin played there when he was with the band Colorado that had a big hit in the eighties. Allan has also played the Irish Festival a few times.
