Hi Guys,
Anyone know how I would go about getting a JBL D130 and then rigged up to a separate cab?
I believe this is the model number that Lloyd Green used to use and some of the British steelie legends rave about? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
As I'm a scrawny lad who concentrates too much on learning pedal steel rather than an Exercise For Less membership, I'm wanting to go via the split cab and head route in future. Don't know if I'm going to fire a solid state Peavey head through it or a Fender Twin head but as heavy as a JBL D130 is, surely it isn't as much as a boat anchor as a Combo Peavey Session 400 Limited Blackwidow or a Fender Twin 66' RI with 2x Jensens? I know that an aging but timeless hero in Lloyd Green is currently using a split cab Session 400 set up to trim the weight. I'm fine with lifting 15- 20 kg but once you start pushing 30kg like my dad's Peavey or my Fender Twin, you start to think is it all worth it and how long can I cope.
Not only that...it gives me versatility to swap out heads for when I wanna play the Clint Black stuff or the Buck Owens stuff, tone to die for either way.
Cheers all!
