There are only four steel players in Glasgow and I am both of them.
I have not applied for the advertised position.
It looks like We have a few imposters

As many of you know I am always up for the Whorehouse....... :shock:

,,,,,,, Anyway I did put my hand up for it as yet no response........But, I thought I would chime in with a little advice... As, Thanks to Basil Henriques I have so far done it twice and it is a very pleasant little gig... Bob says......
"The part is quite challenging, and the player would be required to read sheet music" well, my ignorance in that department is well known..... but the production has about half dozen numbers that you are required to play on and the main reason you need to know the score is there are places where the music may slow down or go quiet or stop! ....but apart from that you have a fairly free hand to put something in that would compliment it, and in my experience the other "competent" musicians around you are happy to give you guidence....... So the advice is...Learn the songs (simple 3 chorders!) available on CD all over the place and don`t work too cheaply.... remember, its a weeks work!

The first time I did this gig was at the Royal Northern Colledge of Music, it was the ultimate challange of intimidation for someone like me ,I was surrounded by guys and gals that could read fly shite!!! But they could not have been nicer or more helpful....Thanks Basil and thanks to the production!

Glasgow has another rehearsal tonight and there are a couple of PSG hats in the ring there so that is good!
