Geoff, just watched video of Mitchell Smithy and David Wright playing in MSA room, unfortunately camera facing them and not on your guitar, which I take it is at other end of room.

Malcolm, it's gorgeous. I took a few photos but they don't really do it justice. I think Ken is going to put up a photo at some point, I'll take some better photos tomorrow and stick them up. Kyle took a photo with myself and Smithy with the guitar so that'll probably go up at some point on the American forum. It looks much better than the photos that have been posted so far. Kyle and Smithy were asking after you.

They're setting it up tomorrow so I'll have my first play around with it, all the guys thought it was a quality finish, Ken described it has a "keeper".

Having a great time :D

The search goes on for the Jagwires, apparently they are like hens teeth, but I'll persevere, better chance tomorrow I've been told, I'll see if I can get a hold of Mike Sigler at some point during the day.

Looking forward to watching Buck Reid, Paddy Long and David Wright tomorrow amongst others.

So glad you are pleased with it, enjoy your first play on it.Wort a visit to see Mike Sigler in GFI room, he is awesome player. Will keep following Mr Blings exploits, have told Kyle to give him a hard time, ( he is not a lover of MSA,and obsessed with Show Pro, great guitars by the way) , otherwise he is quite sensible.Has Ivor the driver ordered another MSA yet? Absolute character, just love him, just tells it like it is.Enjoy rest of show.

Ken & Geoff,
Thanks for the posts from Dallas, gents. It's great reading.

Can't wait to hear your new shiny blast, Geoff. It looks stunning in the pics.

And Malcolm, sorry you never made it over but you've got to take care of yer lugs!

Cheers guys.

OK, picture 1 shows the Telonics TCA500 combo, with its cabinet specially made by cabinet maker extraordinaire Mark Giles. In real life this amp is just stunning, with highly lacquered finish on top of the sunburst plus chrome plated grill cover. All right it's kitsch an highly impractical, but it looks just incredible - a show stopper.

Picture 2 is of the Handy Patch developed as a patch changer primarily for the TCA500, but in actuality it can be used to scroll through any MIDI device.

Picture 3 is the tiny, yet very lightweight Quilter Pro Block 200. Haven't had chance to try it out yet but it is certainly an incredible piece of kit. 200 watts of digital power, with built in reverb. Match this with a 12" or 15" Neo speaker and you have the perfect solution for easy transportation. Blimee, even I could pop this thing under one arm and have a speaker cabinet or a steel in the other hand. This thing weighs less than McMiser's wallet at 4 pounds, and is beautifully finished. Now where's my wallet??

Finally, picture 4 is of a Show Pro built by Jeff Surratt for his buddy Ray Hunt. A lovely guitar that plays and sounds just wonderful.

I will be taking many more photo's today - the first official day of the Show, especially of the MSA, Mullen, Show Pro and Williams guitars. :D Stay glued. :D

Geoff Ivor 1.jpg

The pic above is of Geoff Noble and his lovely wife being held court by Ivor the Driver (seated). Ivor is seen bending Geoff's ear about a subject that he has become somewhat of an expert about over the years - TONE!!!

I lost count of the number of times I caught him talking to people about how to achieve great tone, and what guitars have great tone - even to highly experienced players. He is one of the most naturally funny guys I have ever met in my life, and had me and Ted Nesbitt creased up in Cracker Barrel many times with his yarns. I was starting to nod off last night when I took this pic in the Sheraton, but it had to be done.

Ken, if you can manage to get opinions on how Pro Block 200 compares to Steelaire Head that would be most helpful, if you could pass on my regards to Chris Park of Quilter and Jim Palenscar tell them sorry I could not fly to show but thanks for all their help.McMiser

I will try my best Mr M. I picked up a brochure on the amp for Derek Thurlby, so I suppose you will want one too? The big guy with the long white hair in the Quilter room mentioned Basil H to me, so it might be that Basil has been making enquiries too.

Just a quickie before I go to the Sheraton this morning. A shot of our old mate Spencer Scott. Spence seems to be enjoying himself this week, and is travelling with Ray Hunt down to Florida for a break.
