I've uploaded mine. Unfortunately my dad won't be a part of the project.

Good stuff, Steven, I'll get to that tomorrow, and thanks for the heads up about your dad.

Steven, do you suffer from Menieres Disease, I have had it for fifteen or more years. It starts with a feeling that your ear is blocked and swollen, then you have an attack of vertigo, after which your hearing diminishes slightly.
When your ear feels full you also get the pan pipe theory, that is, when you whistle one note you hear two notes, which is pretty distressing for a player of a non fretted instrument.
It is treatable, but when it first kicks off it is fairly alarming.

Hi Mate,

I'm unaware of having that. I do however have a longstanding medical record with niggling ear problems. When I was very young I had glue ear which was very detrimental as it delayed my ability to learn to speak. I won't go into too much but they thought me not speaking was a sign of something much different to hearing problems...take your pick. I got over that but from being a kid into my mid teens I had regular infections, usually brought on by my sinuses.

Up until now it has slowed right down and I've been pretty healthy but sometimes it comes back to haunt me. I like to call it swimmers ear because these days it usually happens after getting water in there and sometimes I feel a "running" sensation. GPs and audiologists last year gave my ears a clean bill of health after a similar occurrence. I didn't agree with them but they are the experts. I don't get vertigo as you describe but whichever ear is affected definitely feels "full".

Now that I think about it, I think my problems towards the end of the session were because I backed off the volume pedal a bit giving quieter steel in the mix which gave the illusion of being flat. Combine this with only having 1 ear made it quieter than usual. There was no double attack delay. When I listen back at a higher volume its fine. I probably blamed my ear wrongly because I was fine up until then. My right foot drifted.
Kind Regards, Steven Hicken Jr.

Thanks Danny. Will have a listen tomorrow. Then I need to try and remember where my pedal steel is. Hopefully somewhere close by.

I will get my part done over the weekend ('long Covid' permitting!). I've already got plenty of ideas, just need to learn how to actually play them now.
