Thanks guys. Be really good to see the Bennett, Malcolm. I went with Ron purely on recommendation so it'll be great to see an actual instrument.

Hopefully, we're on the home stretch now so I might even be able to bring something along to the next meeting (or maybe the one after that !). Just feel like a bit of a numpty while I'm waiting, although I am trying to do as much prep as possible for when I have a steel here.

I got a call from Ron last night, The steel will be ready to collect next week.

It would have been ready this week, but he found a hairline crack in the metal neck. He's called the foundry and a replacement is being cast and sent.

We have a chat for a few minutes and all is good. My wife and I are going to take a wee drive down there to collect it.

Yay for keyless! Well done Mark, many people are anti-keyless because they think the guitar looks wrong. But here's the secret: it may look funny, but it sounds better. The notes return to pitch better, with less hysteresis, because the length of string behind the nut is much shorter. And the guitar as a whole is more mechanically rigid because of the shorter cabinet length, so less cabinet drop, and it doesn't walk around as much under the influence of the knee levers. No sure about YouTube posts! I haven't played a steel since November 2011 when I sold my 'Little Buddy'.

Now going to be ready for collection a week on Wednesday so the 13th March. Manager of the Foundry has been away so replacement neck delayed.
