There have been several Bentley's delivered in the U.S. now and each one has serious tuning and playability issues. One had to have the undercarriage ripped out and rebuilt by a third party independent builder on the buyer's own dime of course, one has been sent back to Ron three times and the last time sent it was several months before it was returned to the buyer (still unplayable of course) it now resides in its case under the buyer's bed, and the latest had screws missing, stops not attached, stripped screws, knee lever scratched to hell, and a myriad of other poor assembly issues. Ron couldn't build a decent playable steel if his life depended on it.

I can't begin to comprehend why some people throw money at this character to buy an instrument from him when his track record is clearly laid out in various platforms on the internet.

I was able to take a very close look at Davy Adams' guitar that he and his good lady paid good money for. It was not very well put together, and was almost impossible to keep in tune. The cross shafts for the knee levers flexed when a minimal amount of pressure was applied to the levers. Likewise when the pedals were depressed, the pedal stop bolts flexed as they were far too long and too thin. Most of the current builders of pedal steels have forgotten more than the owner of Bentley guitars knows. The pictures on his web site make his guitars look good, but they don't stand close scrutiny. My advice to anyone thinking of buying a Bentley steel guitar is simple. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a stable and well engineered pedal steel that can stay in tune.
