String breakage

Some more thoughts on string breakage from my limited experience as an old Plucker, I can never recall a string breaking in the middle of the span....can you? it only seems to occur in the three areas of trauma , mechanism end, roller nut, or tuning peg..... most common i think is to find a ball end with about 2" of string attached, you know that bit that sticks in your foot if you hav'ent got your slippers on, second to that being the roller nut end...that being evident by the amount of string left on the peg, then there is the break on the peg itself.....tis how I see it....
