Hope all is well with you. caught site of this thread so thought id put my five peneth in.
During Lockdown, when I wasn't working, I would spend 3-4 hours a day practicing, also learning new songs from the Anthology of the pedal steel book (Londondary Aire, Blue Jade & Doug's Melody) Reading the TAB was interesting at the start but soon got the hang of it. Lucky enough to have steel set up in the spare room so just check the tuning and that's it.
Now I'm back to work, albeit part time, I'm down to poss 5 hours a week. Have to move the steel out of the way to accommodate the Travel Cot when Grandson comes twice a week so no playing those days if I'm home. Its noticeable, to me anyway, that the reduction in practice time now is reflected when playing the songs learnt, not as crisp at the beginning but gets better the more you go over it. Guess that applies to us all.
Will carry on regardless, might get the hang of it one day.
Best wishes to all fellow Steelies, stay safe and keep on "Pickin"
