Kenny Pierce has died

Postby David Hartley » Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:21 pm

Some of you will remember him playing steel for The Western Echoes and The Silver Ace.
He was never a forum member or even on the internet.
I learned to play his steel. It was always left on the band van at all times when I was playing bass guitar with the silver ace. I used to drag it off In the week, and alter the pedals around etc, he never used to mind. It was an old Fuzzy.
It even had a couple of mole grips as knee lever.

RIP Kenny.

Cremation at Risby on the Tuesday 27th August at 1:30 pm
CD's and individual tracks available to download from iTunes and CD Baby.

Sorry to hear that Dave. I remember that old Fuzzy too. He was a really friendly bloke and always willing to encourage others to play. Used to meet him at the jam sessions. Rest in peace Kenny.

Very sad little funeral, I expected to see a few steel players there but it was not to be... Kenny's Granddaughter gave a very moving eulogy, we had "together again", "Blue Jade" and "on the road again" then the whole 20 of us left the building, there were a couple of guys that may have been band members I don't know I didn't like to ask.

I didn't know of Kenny at all which is a great shame as I like to think that we are aware of all musicians that play our. Beloved steel guitar here in the UK. I understand that he was a great steel player but he wasn't known in other parts of the U.K. But the area he lived in.
If anyone has anymore info on Kenny please share.
My condolences go out to his family and friends.
Thanks JD for representing the steel players of the U.K.
