Beware! of the revolving Mr Ron Steenwijk

Postby Admin » Mon Dec 18, 2017 12:30 am

To all BSS members, be advised, it would be very foolish to have any involvement with this individual in any shape or form.

I have been informed by one of our esteemed community (JP) that he has raised his head once again!

Should you fall foul .....remember ....... 'You were warned'!

This individual has benefited from the sensitivity and generosity of the steel community and it now appears has enhanced his bank account handsomely as a result.

MEGA FACT! I was a very early contributor to a 'very well constructed' sob story! and am three figures of dollars the lighter!

No fool like an old fool eh! ............. My fingers are healing but they won't be burned again! That's for sure!

DO NOT GO THERE!

Thanks for the head up JP

We have to word our views very carefully with this guy, as his track record is to threaten to sue anyone who 'outs' him on the internet. His name is blackened in the USA steel guitar fraternity because of some of his alleged scams and schemes. We know that he completely ripped off one of our steel guitar brethren in the UK after building a very sub-standard and inaptly named Bentley pedal steel. I am more than happy for him to take me through the courts process, as I have collated lots of evidence of his questionable activities and many names of disgruntled individuals who have fallen foul of Steenwijk's scams.

He is very devious, and has used aliases in the past to overcome the bad name that he has. A quick Google will provide a mountain of detail about this scumbag, and his nefarious activities.

He is still hard at it. Delivered three more and all three eventually were sent to Mickey Adams for attempted “salvation”...one was deemed dead on arrival, the other two were able to be brought up to practice guitar playability only. A fourth has recently been delivered and I’m sure it will come out the same.

Just to give everyone the opportunity to see & read how bad this person is,
I am attaching the original file that I made, in collaboration with others in the steel guitar community.
I have, with permission, posted it on many steel guitar sites-group pages, and individuals, on social media,
It's not very pleasant reading. :(

This will give you all, especially newcomers, an insight to the devious behaviour of this individual over the years.
I was one of the few, thankfully, who saw through his scams about 16 years ago,
when he tried to sell me backing tracks at knock down prices.

As Patrick mentioned in his comment, at least 3, poss. 4 guitars have been sent for repairs.
From what I have learned recently, 1 dead, 2 are sick (playable) & the other just may make it !

best regards to you all, Jim

I was astounded to see That Bentley Guitars have a booth at the Dallas Steel Show this year, totally amazed that they would have been welcome with the track record of its owner. :o Thankful ai am not going this year.

I recently left the Steel guitar Builders group on FB when Steenwank? was put on the governing board. It amazes that after all that has been brought to light about him on this and other forums that there are still some U.K. ( and other worldwide)players who still have him as a friend on FB, I automatically unfriend anyone who has him as a friend there to prevent any access to my account he may get.

Hi Guys,
Why not send all the copies of files claims etc. to Bentley Cars in the UK. I figure if he is using what I believe to be a registered name, could he not be sued by Bentley for this and repeated breaches??? Just a thought, because they have far more dosh and influence world wide. And lets face it his steel guitars are far from being a Bentley of the steel guitar world are they.
