Great! I thought you were just down the road. Don't expect anything spectacular...unless I lamp the lead guitarist for playing over all the steel parts!

I use a Truetone on my GFI -wonderfull pick up with a full sweet sound far better than the original which is made by George L. Trutone is probably the best single coil on market to my ears.

Thanks Dave. I am going to try Malcolm's idea of putting it on the front neck, then if the back neck doesn't sound quite right I'll be in the market for another truetone. Do these single coil pickups have a shelf life then? When I bought this Pro2 it had the original pickups and I changed the C6 straight away because it didn't sound right. I suppose it's from the 70's or 80's so they are 30 or 40 years old!

Jim, I have sent you a PM....Bluebird have cancelled tonight because of the weather (which is ok here)

Dave,if it turns out pick up is faulty, get in touch with Jerry Wallace the maker, he is really helpful and will give you advice on what resistance would be best for your guitar and any other tech advice you need.

Thanks Malcolm, but the Truetone is perfect. The one I had a problem with was the original Bud pickup. I have swapped them round this evening, so the original is now on the back neck and the truetone is on the front. Sounds good at home, but then again it always does...see what it sounds like live. Thanks again for your input. I'll post an update...not enough tech stuff for my liking on this forum recently. Dave

Dave I believe Jerry rewinds the original Bud pickups to original specs if you needed that service.Believe people who rebuild Buds use his services.Malcolm
