Went to a concert on Saturday night in Bangor Co.Down to hear Charlie Landsborough and his fantastic band. Dave Rowland on steel and dobro ... what a great player.
Dave was playing his Excel SD10 thru a Peavey Nashville 112, great tone and clarity. He amazed me with his expertise on dobro ..... great playing Dave.
Lead guitarist was a real tasty player and the guy on keys was top class. A very enjoyable evening ........ and the sound man done an amazing job.

Ted have always said that Dave is one of the most under rated players in the UK.Didn't Know he was playing Excel, always used his Carter anytime I saw him.Great player and a real nice guy.

He is one of the best.I remember seeing him when I was a young hippie and I was playing in my first country band.I was a rarity then.I cant remember who he was playing with but I told him I was fascinated by the pedal steel even though I didn"t own one.On his break he showed me what the pedals and levers did and explained the picking.He wont remember me but the next time he saw me he gave me a bar (that I"ve still got) saying "Here you go that will get you started"

Dave is a great player much respected by me. The guitarist is John Pettifer also commanding great respect!
