Anyone know this person?

I recently placed a piece on the USA forum WANTED section for 3 Zum pullers. I gave my email address and said that I would pay by PayPal. I have received an email from a Kevin McFarland of Merseyside who gave a very vague response. I am concerned that this may be a scam so I am just checking to see if anyone has heard of Mr McFarland.

His message read thus;

This is Kevin from the United Kingdom.You placed a wanted Ad over the internet.I still have for sale in good and excellent condition.You can reach me on +447024078224.

The wording of the reply makes Me wary.
However He has given a phone number which is unusual.

Ken, I have doubts straight away by just the phone number.....if he knows your in England why would he put the +44 in front of it??? Anyway I figured a soloution....so I called Baz Gas. and he lives there so my advice is email your seller (don`t ring ,it may cost you a fortune!) and tell him you have a friend in Merseyside that will pop around and pay him cash!! Thanks guys - I have emailed him and asked him to send pictures of the pullers. Nothing back so far. The phrasing in his reply sounds a little suspect, so I am suspecting that this is a scammer with a mobile phone. His email address is [email protected] which again is unusual.

I think that one should be wary of putting email addresses and paypal in the same post. Someone using the right software can search a web site for this type of info.

Definite scam. This guy's been doing the rounds... and giving the UK a bad name, though I suspect he's on another continent. See here!

Definite scam. I have not had a response - surprise, surprise.

I thought I would check through this site as we all tend to know each other one way or another. Our community is quite small, and thankfully people like this person stick out like a sore thumb with their lack of technical knowledge. Probably from Africa or Indonesia.

I have had my faith in humanity restored. A forumite from the USA forum contacted me and offered to let me have the 3 pullers free of charge and no charge for shipping. How kind is that!

After the idiot scammer, this person's kindness has taken me aback. The steel guitar community is like no other.
