Definitely not Buddy. Could be Wally Murphy.

Sure looks like Wally Murphy and, at around 35.55 Johnny says something that sounds to me like "Brother Murphy", which is followed by a steel break. Impressively fast picking through the vocal, pity it has nothing to do with the tune though.

If you go onto youTube and read through the comments, the steel player is said to be Jim Murphy (Wally Murphy ? ).
