Either Paul Franklin or Sonny Garrish. Sounds more like Sonny's Emmons push-pull to me.

Long time favourite of mine, comes from the best of Country sings the best Disney CD. The steel player on this track is Jim Vest( Bruce Bouton confirmed this to me , Bruce plays on some other tracks). Superb tone and interpretation . :guitar:

For anyone interested in C6
That last lingering chord at the end of the fantastic intro, - I make it D13 b9. (contains b7th, 6th and b9 intervals)
Sounds a mouthful but can easily be played. (he does pedal or knee lever into it - not sure of his set up)

For those like me with the G on top
Fret 11, Pedal 8, Strings 2,3,5 and 7. (see, you should have used 3 finger picks)

You could also call it, G# 7, #9.
I know what most of you would call it. :o

I used it in the sequence at the end of Which Way is Gone. (Weldon Tribute)
You don't have to know the names, it helps, but it's more important to recognise the sound.

Chord names are a nightmare. For instance, you think you're playing say C diminished, but it might be written as B7 b9. Depends usually on what the bass is doing, but not always. Some Writers and Namers of chords seem to make up their own rules.
Feel free to correct me if I've made any mistakes here, or you don't agree.

P.S. Kept it in this section as it is relevant to the clip.
