Band In A Box (old versions)

I was looking to buy Band In A Box but found that it's now around £100. I don't have that available so I had to find a cheaper way to get it !
There are auctions on eBay to get BIAb from the USA for around £60, but then you have both the shipping and possible import tax to pay. The real bargain though is finding old versions for sale.
I recently managed to find BIAB 2005 for sale on eBay and managed to get it for £35. It did take a bit of patience to get it working on Windows 7, but the makers of BIAB (PG Music) still have updates for it on their site. I don't know all the technical details, but the sounds used in 2005 are now defunct, so it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as the more recent versions, but it does work! When using files from more recent versions, the 'styles' may not be available,so it's a matter of finding something close and using 'style aliases' to get it to work.
So the more recent versions sound better and cost more, but for those on a budget anything from 2005 onwards will work
