I give up

Due to health problems going from bad to worse, and Doctors orders to not to try and lift anything a bit heavy {waiting to have an injection in the hips again } so I have with great regret may have to part with my superb SHO-BUD D12 Pro 2 Custom

This guitar is in fantastic original condition , plays and sounds absolutely wonderful.

But I have to give in to it being a bit on the heavy side to lift in and out of the boot I use a trolley and separate cases to make it a bit easier at some gigs but some venues have stairs, I also have a flight case that the steel ect fits in that if I sell or trade I would use to send the steel by courier. .

So I am considering trading straight for either a lighter 12 string universal a lighter D10 or even take a good SD10 as a PX

This steel cost me over £1600 a few month ago from a member of the forum but If no PX happens i would let it go for £1550 +courier and that's a BARGAIN for a steel in this condition and also these are quite rare and up to about 5 years ago this steel was kept in a bedroom for over 30 years so the mechanics are in superb working condition, Kenny Byng can vouch about just how nice this steel is.

What a steal(!) at that price, Jimmy. I know what you mean about weight though... What you need is one like my nice light Williams!

Absolutely Will I would go for something like that it would do me a treat, hopefully the injections will help as they did before just got to wait for the appointment the Zapain painkillers I take help but I have to time it right when i take them so they kick in when I need them.

Got any pictures of your steel?

If I can respectfully dive in here Jimmy. The guitar is very special, and created a lot of interest when I put a post about it on the USA steel forum. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopi ... 12+sho+bud

It is a D12 and therefore will be a little heavier than a D10. I was surprised when you went for this guitar Jimmy, with your recent history of muscular/skeletal problems. I can understand you wanting to downsize in terms of weight. It needs someone who has the physical attributes to transport it, and will look after it. Weight wise, I don't think it is any heavier than my second ZB D10.

The guitar is a rare example of a D12 'Bud, and the birdseye grain is incredible. Tone-wise it is one of the best guitars that I have ever sat behind, and the extended E9 and C6 tunings are extremely valuable. I described the guitar to David Jackson (Shot's son) a few years ago when I was having a chat with him. He was really interested in it, and was trying to recall who ordered it originally. The price that Jimmy has it at is a real bargain and incredible value for money for a piece of steel guitar history. The guitar has a label underneath that indicates that it was checked by steel guitar legend Duane Marrs. :D

Thanks Ken for taking the time to comment and yes it is an absolute beautiful looking great playing and sounding steel , I should really not have bought but at the time there were no Universals or D10`s for sale on the BSS and because I had never seen a D12 BUD before and did not even know they made a D12, and at the time I needed a steel pretty sharp so I went for it,and when it arrived I was absolutely amazed just how nice it was.

The tone is amazing on both necks it has the best C6th sound I have ever heard.

AND IT IS A BARGAIN

Just to add I would rather do a PX for a universal or a lighter D10 than sell, because I still have gigs to do and can`t take a chance that there will be no steels for sale on the BSS .

So is anyone interested in this beauty?

I just spent the last 2,1/2 hours on and off playing this steel and it is absolutely superb and i know I will be a fool to part with it
but circumstances dictate, and I have to be realistic, so make me a decent offer around £1500,or maybe have a lighter steel about the same value that you would trade.

Thanks Jimmy.
