I am trying to reclaim some space in my bedroom, so my Curnow steel is for sale to a good home. Bernie Curnow is a Cornishman, a former toolmaker by profession, and his skills are evident in the build of this nice SD10. It started as a lefty, and has been converted to the right-handed layout later. I have tidied up a few points of detail, and added knee lever "flags" for comfort. The changer is all-pull, 3 raise / 2 lower. There are 3 pedals, and 4 knee levers. The setup is presently Jimmy Day, but I can re-rod it for you and set it up as you would like it. This is a proper pro steel, not a student model. I'm asking £850. Photos to follow as soon as I get a chance! Please PM me here, or e-mail

Yes this a nice steel, I did the conversion on this steel from lefty to righty and used it on quite a few gigs, it plays great and sounds superb, sometimes i wish I had kept it, and it is a bargain at the price Bernard was a perfectionist in his work, and I have played the other steels he made and IMHO they are as good,as some of the big name steels.
Don`t miss out on a bargain.
Jimmy.

I've been away for a few days so missed this when it first appeared.
I have an old Sho-Bud that Bernard bought in the US and restored/renovated. This included replacing the Sho-Bud undercarriage with his own parts. Plays well, smooth, precise and stays in tune!
Will's ad looks to be a bargain and very reasonably priced.

Ok here are some pictures of this nice steel. By the way, Bernie didn't skimp on wood thickness. There is barely any cabinet drop although there's no alloy bar across the front as we see so often nowadays. By the same token, it's not the lightest, but hey, you can't have everything!
