Modified Student model Emmons S10

Postby JohnDavisStringsHere » Wed May 08, 2024 5:47 am

3 pedals 4 knee levers Emmons set up with E's lowering on Right knee left, mods are new adjustable legs and a QR ally pedal board, it is a very light guitar compared to the pro models but it plays and sounds just as good imho.
£1650 set up any way you want it or £1500 "as is" reason being its a bit more involved to change than an "all pull" guitar.

Hi John,

A few years back you did a grand job of fixing up my old MSA Classic D10 that I bought in an auction. I've finally got to the stage where I'm actually playing gigs and the MSA has one big disadvantage, which is that it weighs as much as a neutron star. Given that I don't play C6 at all, I've been thinking about getting a more lightweight S10 or SD10 for gigs. How would this Emmons compare with the MSA?

Things I like about the MSA: it never goes out of tune, no cabinet drop that I can detect, I've never broken a string, seems easily repairable when it goes wrong, will survive the apocalypse. Also thanks to you it now has longer legs than usual to accommodate my spidery limbs.

Things I'm less keen on: weight, grey formica finish, only three knee levers, I struggle to feel the half stop on the D#-D-C# lever and tend to plough right through it.

This light weight Emmons to guitar is still looking for a new home, it will do the job if its only beginner learning guitar right through to pro playing it has the sound and the playability
