Rickenbacker Electro Model "Ace" SOLD

A great lap steel that is at least 70 years old. This is a much lighter construction than the bakelite B6, being one piece of moulded bakelite. It is incredibly resonant and the pickups work great.

I have it tuned to C6 currently and have a plastic spacer under the nut just to raise the lowest string slightly since it is a light gauge. That is just held down by the weight of the strings and would be completely unnecessary if you were using the guitar for open D/G or put in a heavier string for C6 (which is what I would do if I was keeping it).

This is one of the best condition Ace models I have been able to find and was purchased in the US in the 80s and imported over. The felt over the sheet metal back panel is intact and pretty much looks new which is pretty hard to find.

The original tweed case is not in good shape but does lock closed and, with some extra padding, can easily protect the guitar in transport. Local collection in Newcastle upon Tyne or the surrounding area or would be happy to ship. Looking for £895

Happy to answer any questions

Hello,
I don't see on your pictures if there is indeed a "horse shoe pickup" under the hood, as is the case on the famous Rickenbacker models. Could you tell me more about the pickup or maybe add a picture where we could see the horse shoe magnets? I would also like to know the height of the strings in relation to the fingerboard at the nut. Thank you!
