Bennett bellcranks etc wanted.

Postby jivebiker » Fri Feb 16, 2024 5:38 pm

Hi,
I am refurbishing and adding to my Bennett SD10 PSG. As such I need 5 x 5-hole bellcranks, for a 5/16" square shaft, with 3/16" holes in a straight arrangement (see photo) and about 10 of the rod clips and plastic washer thingies (mine are very brittle and several have shattered). I have rods (from a previous project) but they have totally different bellcrank hooks so the ends need to be reshaped.
Otherwise any other bellcranks for a 5/16" shaft and whatever ferrule or otherwise is needed to attach to the rod.

I have tried contacting Ronnie Bennett but his number just rings out to voicemail, and he does not respond to my email. We did speak about this last year, but when I emailed he didnt answer, and we sort of lost contact. Now the need is urgent.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi John,

Thanks but I need ones with holes rather than a ladder type. You have some like them in your bag (6 holes). As it is I have made some from some L-shaped reinforcing plates I had lying around.
I dd get hold of Ron in the end and he has given me the part no for the little rod end clips (a quite rare MG car door component). I am now able to put things together with my own copedent.

Regards
Bryan

Just to let you know Ronnie has been away due to a family bereavement.

I have now contacted Ronnie and have now got all the bits I need. The bellcranks turn out to be quite easy to make, about 15 minutes each! The rod end connectors are from MG Roadster, look for part number GHF1180 or BHA4705 if you need them, the best place top get them was P A Blanchard, they were 92p each - some places want £5 each!
Thanks to everyone who offered help.
