Starter pedal steel or midrange lap steel wanted

Hi there everyone.

As a 40th birthday treat to myself I have put some money aside (max £1000) to either upgrade my lap steel or start my journey with pedal steel. The lap steels I would like would be both 6 and 8 string Rickenbacker/Fender style ones, but as for pedal steel I have no idea. I understand my budget puts me firmly at the entry level of the scale, but I would like something with at least a 3 pedal / 3 knee lever / 10 string setup. If you have anything suitable, please let me know. I'm based in London so if you're local I can pop over and have a look at what you've got.
