Shobud D10 SuperPro very rare model maple/natural

Postby JohnDavisStringsHere » Fri Jul 02, 2021 1:43 pm

This guitar, I am told was made for and presented to John Edmed who had the Shobud shop in London, it has been signed underneath by Lloyd Green and is built from some amazing timber The top is "Birds Eye Maple the sides Flaming Maple and is quite special.
On the down side it was owned by a very pro musician for a lot of years so it has been played and played! this causes wear some of which I have arrested with a fairly intense service but it has been a very busy guitar in fact the case looks as though its been through a couple of wars....
The guitar is now playing reasonably well and I have done as much as intend to do on it, the price is £1650 +shipping but collection preferred.

I can remember going to The Sho Bud shop in Denmark Street and buying this steel When John Edmed was there, and I traded it with Jimmy Martin many many years ago,it was a beautiful steel with Johns initials in mother of pearls on the front,I nearly bought it back from Jimmy a few years back, when he was playing at my local Country club.It is a looking steel and someone is going to be very happy if they buy it.

John
A bit of hypocrisy in your last post mate, you say in the video that if no one is interested in buying this lovely guitar, your going to butcher the back neck and turn the guitar into a single neck, then sell of the parts for spares !
Then you sit behind her and play “ have I told you lately that I love you “ as if your taking a lamb to be slaughtered! :o

Please put a hold on “operating“ on this old girl just now, look what happened with the “ lefty Bennett “ and how it sold to the happy camper who now owns it! :P

Any wear and tear on mechanical parts can easily be rectified and return this guitar to it’s full glory, it is an appealing and very playable guitar just now, so get the kettle on and sort out the biscuits as “ someone somewhere is thinking of you “ ( cue for a song ?) :guitar: and busy counting their pennies!
It’s only been for sale since yesterday and perhaps due to the pandemic, miracles take a little bit longer now ! :o
Cheers
Robert
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Robert, First and foremost Thank you for recognizing the toon I was attempting to play, the guitar does now play reasonably well as proved for that to happen..... now let me explain my thinking on the possible transformation, far from"Butchering" the old Gal, my thoughts were to give it complete new lease on life as is always the case there is little wear on the C6th side as it is much less played so having already swapped a few parts on it here and there to allow that to happen. You say mech. parts can be replaced but at what cost?? All my friends that I used to be able to scrounge a part from are now out of stock (and asking me for bits.
It would be no less attractive as a D/B S10 and there are far more players in that market plus, it would be so much lighter, the pedal board with nine pedals requires two men and a boy to carry it so, Its an iconic piece of kit that belongs in a museum or someones collection of Shobud memorabilia IMHO...
One thing is for sure it is pure "Eye Candy" to look at.
