Modified SX eight-string lap steel guitar, American swamp ash body, chrome hardware, Can be played lap-style, or Pedal Steel style on the stand shown. Detachable screw-in legs and soft carry-case also supplied. The guitar is strung with SIT semi-flatwound nickel strings (for less tone bar noise), and tuned to E6th, a great tuning for Country/Western Swing. (lo-hi: E,G#,B,C#,E,G#,B,E) The original bridge has been replaced with a custom-built bridge incorporating two tone-raising levers, known as 'palm pedals'. The levers enable two 'raises', the top G# to A, the top B to C#. These raises produce the best-known sounds of a pedal steel guitar, giving the player the ability to easily add a real 'country' sound to their playing, on top of the already versatile sound of an E6th eight-string. This is an ideal instrument for anyone wishing to add a Pedal Steel sound to their style, without the cost (and weight!) of a full ten-string. £300.
Other additions include a George Boards retro-style playing card fretboard and tailor-made roller nut. All original replaced parts (bridge, bridge cover and top nut) are included.
