Fender Artist S-10. 1976-77. I have the D-10. Top is Fender, undercart ShoBud. Changer pivots on a knife edge and is very kind on strings, can't remember ever breaking any, so be careful if you let it go in UK John
Fender SM T-8: Shakey 10-plank: Ricky 6: Harmony H7 R Smeck,: plus "home-mades"
Fender D-10: Sierra D-11:

The little Fender made it home today as I was in the Birmingham area..... and I am gobsmacked!! The bright work looks like new (it has the Ashtray top and the "Fender" mech and it rings like a bell!! this is probably where Carter got the BCT idea from... at the moment its set up for a giant with Emmons pedal arrangement and 4 knees and the sound is Awesome :D
Will post some decent pics ASAP

There was a thread on the USA forum about these. They date from 1976 and 1977 and ShoBud built 4400 of them for Fender using some Fender parts on the top (hence the ashtrays and the string-through changer finger). There were D-10s and S-10s and came in black or mahogany.
There have also been some vinyI finish "Mavericks" made with the Fender logo, but the Artist range was by far the best.
I have the relevant Fender catalogue and it is quite a good coffee table book, it's full of drawings of fairy-tale characters playing Fenders and the pages (it's around A4, portrait format) are split horizontally (like two picture books, one above the other, sharing the same spine) so you can choose, say, Telecaster guitar page at the top and Twin Reverb page below.
And, yes Ken, - I've had that since you found it for me in, what - very early 1980s? Thanks
