[SOLD] ZB custom D10 for sale

Wed Nov 10, 2010 2:50 pm

ZB Custom D10 8 pedals/6 Knee Levers ser# 0552. Mid seventies Guitar is in good shape. Never modified has a few small bar dings. George ‘L’ pickups,

I did originally put this on ebay but decided to withdraw the sale due to having my first grandson and intending to keep it for him, but after a long deliberation have decided to sell.

After playing the guitar for 30 years i have decided (reluctantly) to sell because I have purchased a new MSA guitar which arrives soon

This ZB as far as I know is all original parts, body work was refurbished by Bennet in 1992 there are no cracks in the lacquer finish,

For an old ZB plays pretty darn good and definitely has the ZB sound. Setup is Jimmy Day. These guitars are getting harder and harder to find in such good condition as this one. If you're a ZB lover, you'll want this one.
Included is a spare George ’L’ PF-II pickup bought 3 months ago for £79.95
18.6K or 20K ohms. It gives the sound that Paul Franklin, Jr. demands, as a top session artist in Nashville.

Eddie, i'm asking in the region of £950 but are open to offers i have seen S-10's necks go for a lot more, but are trying to be realistic in the current climate, i have spoken to Maurice hipkiss since i put it on ebay and he informed me that he brought this guitar from new in about 1975 and sold it to me in 1981

Dave, The guitar is in Wolverhampton

If sold at that price it has to be the bargain of the year! I don't see any of the US Brands knocking theirs out at half price or even a third off! had I not two already I would sieze the opportunity..... as for any weight issues on these.... the steel of that era are all much of a muchness!!

Hi bob, as for the price i have never sold a guitar before so have not got any idea of the true value of a guitar from that era. but you have to be realistic i have seen guitars on ebay before at £1000 + only to be put back on again for reasons of reserves not made or no bidders (plenty of watchers),

Its been my one and only guitar since i was 15 and my parents brought it for me !! (i have now purchased a new red Ledgend MSA D-10) so is a bit sentimental hence the reason i was going to keep it for my grandson but that would be a few years down the line before he plays it if indeed he takes it up, so i decided (reluctantly) that someone else could benefit from this Beautiful guitar instead of gathering dust. the weight has not been a problem for me Yet lol.

Bob if you think it is too low should i just keep it for my grandson? as originally decided or put it back on ebay and hope for more? what are your thoughts?

Copied from my {nothing just a statement} post!

I am asked frequently (the last time was 11.30 last night!) what do you think the price should be for (xxx??xxx) steel and a rule of thumb is.
S10 £1k ... SD10 £1.5 ... D10 £2-3k depending on make

This perhaps makes me unpopular with potential buyers but those same buyers will want its true value to remain when they sell it!!

In answer to your question I would keep it! Failing that I certainly wouldn't part with it for less than £1.5k
