Rod King Frypan, Rickenbacher Repro
Model RKR24 (1991)
It's a faithful reproduction. Celebrating 60 years of the Electric Guitar.
The RKR 24 steel guitar is made in the authentic 1930's style of the original Electric Guitar the Rickenbacher A22.
Made in 1931, the Rickenbacher A22 was the FIRST commercial electric guitar.
This guitar is as it left the factory and virtually unblemished, incredible tone and sustain, it brings the advantage of SEVEN Strings to a guitar styling that was originally six string, opening up some very usable tuning possibilities. i.e. Jerry Byrd's C6/A7 (A tuning he pioneered and aptly demonstrated on the Youtube postings.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0RvvAfcBtYThe scale length is :- 24"
The string spacing is :- 3/8" at bridge, 5/16" at nut
The pickup is wound in the traditional pre 1940's way with the correct pre-war gauge wire and appropriate magnets.
"Tone to the Bone" would be best to describe the guitar's unique voice.
