Hi there Steelies.

For the last year I have been running a classic country music event called "Honky Tonk Thursdays" at The Betsey Trotwood pub in Clerkenwell, London.

We've had some fantastic acts including Joshua Hedley and Don Gallardo from Nashville and homegrown acts like Bluegrass pickers The Hotrock Pilgrims and 'west-country' troubadour Ags Connolly.

This month we are hosting a special 4th of July event which features fellow forum member Jon Shacklock and his group East Lonesome Drifters.

There will be a lot on offer:

4 live music acts across 2 floors including - Patrick Ralla (Edwyn Collins), Felix Holt (new signing to Maiden Voyage Records), The Jambalaya House Band (classic country covers - everything from Tammy and George to Buck Owens and Kitty Wells) & Jon Shack's fantastic East Lonesome Drifters.

Vinyl DJ Andy Hackett of The Rockingbirds spinning country classics in the bar all night.

A Screening of a new documentary film entitled "Honky Tonk Moonlight" which follows a day in the life of the people at the American Legion post 82 trying to revive the classic country scene in Nashville.

Great Southern food menu provided by The Betsey Trotwood kitchen.

If you live in London or the nearby areas please do come along and enjoy yourselves. Every band playing has a steel player. There's always several steel players in attendance and plenty of talk about peoples' favourite breaks on tracks, gear and players.

Here is a link to the event. It starts at 7pm and is only £5 entry.

Hope to see some forum members down there.

Keep it steel!
Joe.

Can't wait to play.

Joe runs a fantastic night, his house band is awesome, if you love steel guitars and old skool country music this is one you can't miss.

See you at the bar!
