Good Gentlemen of Gartcosh, would I be correct in assuming the January date to be the 23rd? I can never remember if it's the last Tuesday or the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Danny
Rumour has it that the 4th Tuesday is more acceptable to Lord Donnald, therefore humble serfs and more humbler peasants are requested to attend on that evening, the punishment for coming on the last Tuesday is refusal of entry to the festival hall.
Exceptions can be made when the 4th and last are the same :P :guitar: :guitar:
P.S. 6' of snow :o is another good reason for not attending on the afore mentioned day but a letter from yer Maw or a responsible adult must be shown to his lordship as an excuse for not appearing on said date  :guitar: :guitar:

Oh Danny Boy, the steels, the steels are calling
From far and wide on down to Gartcosh Hall
Not long to go, we'll hear somebody bawling
That keys not right, that keys not right at all

But we'll reply, it's right enough, get playing
And he will say, the speed is far too fast
But then he'll play, and we will all be swaying
Till it comes round, to be your turn at last

Oh Donny boy, the steels the steels are wailing,
A tune we know, or or one we've just made up,
Tis then you'll see Wee Gamble's arms a flailing
If he gets through, it'll be by sheer good luck.

For as you know, that wee bugger is a chancer
He wings it more, than Biggles ever could
He's nothing more, than a wee fat ballet dancer,
At least his steels not bloody plastic, it is wood.

Biggles will arrange to fly over Lochwinnoch and empty the toilet tank on a certain bearded little steel player

Just fly over Gartcosh and get your arse down there Mr McMaster!!! :guitar:

******************************************************************

Will C, for you and all our friends South of the border 'down Mexico way'! I trust we do not bore you I really have to say!
This is just our banter which rarely is forlorn, if we do get too down downhearted we 'Kick right up the Sporran'!

******************************************************************

Re The Gamble! .............

Just you 'watch it' little bard, don't play those plastic games
Where we will simply melt away, you'll go down in flames.
We auld guys are the wingers, when others ... practice face
A shame it is that our guitars are rarely out the case.

Some tunes are picked to challenge, the timing aye in doubt
But inevitably we get there, when at last the picks come out
The young blood show the difference of some time upon the seat
It can be great ... to hear sometimes, a run that's really neat.

We are a bunch of 'mothers' at times ..... it really should be said
But fun we have and that is good ........ cause we're a long time dead.
Our first meet of the season, recoding sesh to boot
For some a wee tad scary, but it should be such a hoot.

Dan/Don/Will ..Dave n' Davie... John/Reg /Dougie .... Jif n' Cal
Billy/Rab 'n Brandon some standards set by all.
Another year approaches, no doubt will fly as fast
For now we bask in glory of our evenings of the past!

'Get in there' .. 'gloves off Danny' for trying to make us stars
But some of us will wing it all the way to Mars
For now we face the 'festive' ... with family, food, ... not stressed!!
It leaves me but to wish you.. 'All' the very best!

Have a good one!! Bob

Oh Bob, you are a caution
That took away my breath
But how can we be a long time dead
When they've done away wi death.

Whether wood or even plastic
Burn in flames, or melt away
I couldn't give a tuppeny damn
As long as the bugger plays

I know I rattle on a bit
About McMasters plastic guitar
But what really rips ma knitting is
It's never in the car

So to end this pile of nonsense
I simply want to say
To ALL the brethren of the Bar
"Have a lovely Christmas Day"
