The world famous campfire night. Bring your steel guitar, uke, mando, guitar, piano. astound us by singing, but most of all enjoy yourself.

Two keyboards, three electrics, two laps, two psgs, an acoustic, a mandy, three mics and a moothie.

A top campfire night was had :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: Willie stepped up and chaired the meet, as Lord Donald was lounging around indoors, your dulcet tones were sadly missed Donny. We were joined by an excellent Blues harp player, I'm sorry I never caught your name  who brought along 3 of his hand built, vintage styled, valve amps. Really nice sounding and great looking little combos going under the name of Honeyboy :guitar: and well worth checking out.

Great songs, great harmonies, great picking, (but sadly, no yodelling. :( ) And, Willie regaled us, out in the street, with two incredible monologues, I'm still laughing.

Thanks for a great wee night gents :guitar:

The cool blues harp player, who visited Gartcosh last night, was Andy 'Honeyboy' Smith, and his excellent wares can be perused here......

I fully endorse Danny's comments on last nights meeting :guitar:
The highlight of the evening for me, was Mr Gamble's talk and demonstration on the practicalities of Pevey amp fault finding, it was so enthralling it even astounded an experienced amp builder.
The look on Andy's face was priceless when Willie hit the corner of his amp with a steel bullet clenched in his fist with a hell of a lot of force, the thump was followed by the amp bursting into life again after getting such a fright!
As we say up here " ye canny whack it" but Willie proved he could and the violence was justified

I took a leaf out of his book and sorted my amp, but I used the "heid" and figured out the fault was probably from the Jack socket on the back cutting out the main speaker, stuck the Jack in and out a few times and "bingo" success without violence  :guitar: :guitar:

Looking forward to next month when "Lord Donald" will be required by "common law" to present his reasons or excuses for non attendance, to his not so humble serfs and peasants, Donnie get yer knee pads ready  . :guitar:  :guitar:
