Ha ha! How's this Donny......
"Dear Mr Johnston,
Please excuse my son Daniel's absence from school, as he suffered a bilious attack in the night.
Yours Sincerely
Mr Mitchell"
I've penned a few of these in my time, and being corrie-fisted and slightly ambidextrous(they can't touch you for it) I used my right hand. I also used to be able to spell, 'dye her rear'.
See Y'all next meet.

Afraid it's a non-show for me tonight as well. Here's my note from my mummy,
Dear Mr Johnston,
Please excuse Geoff from attending the SSGW meet tonight as he has a very sore finger, poor wee soul, and cannae get a pick on it due to the poisoning.
He will make every effort to be there in February, else he'll be getting a thick ear.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff's Mum.

I remember the experience well Willie, on quite few occasions!
Aye, Lo'gelly as it's pronounced locally, course they needed it there, that's where all the bad boys came from
