Irish Steel Guitar Festival 2014

Postby Uncle Roy » Mon Jul 07, 2014 5:10 pm

It seems that there had been worries about the forthcoming October Irish Festival not happening.
I have been assured by members of the committee that there was no truth in any rumors and the festival will go ahead as planned on 18th & 19th October 2014
with headliner from the USA Mr Buck Reid and Sarah Jory UK. More info to come.

Roy
I received written confirmation from Ted Nesbitt of my addition to the list of players. I hope there are no hiccups with this year's show as I have paid for a return ferry trip, and some of my friends in Southampton have also made arrangements with the local airport/airline.

No hiccups Ken. Not sure why such rumours came about but there is no truth in them. Indeed, last BSS Newsletter had details......nothing has changed.

Nothing to worry about Ken, everything is Ok. Looking forward to hearing your planned set. If you play in Dublin the way
you played in Dallas, you will go down a storm. Roll on October.

Bless your heart Ted. That is so kind. I will give you a ring beforehand. I don't know what pleasure that people get out of spreading false rumours, and this type of thing can cause untold damage to events like this. I am looking forward to reuniting with yourself and 'The Driver'. I want to take a video of him telling me all about steel guitar tone, as my missus would love to see it.

I will bring my Show Pro and Emmons push pull, and decide which one to play on the day. You never know, I might even give the red Mullen an airing. :D

For those members who have never attended, this is a fantastic weekend, you will not want it to end. For the record I have already booked my ticket, why not push the boat out and come and join us.

For the first time in yeeeaaars I will miss the Irish Steel Guitar Festival... :censored:
And I am sad about that. Illness in my family is forcing me to stay home.
I wish you all a fantastic weekend and I hope to see you next year.
Success with the organization and I'll have a beer in that weekend to all of you.

With tears in my eyes...
