South London Steelies - July meeting

The next meeting of the South London Steelies will be on Sunday 20 July 2014, 12 noon till 6.00pm at the Bread and Roses pub, Clapham Manor St, SW4. All welcome!!
We're doing injustice to 'Yesterday' (other Beatles tunes may also be available, if members have been doing their homework!)
Anyone needing the backing track to polish up at home, contact Shaun Winning via this site or drop me a PM and I'll put you in touch.
Hope to see as many of you as possible - new members particularly welcome. Fun, friendly and informal - what else will you be doing - the football will have finished by then!!

I love it that your group is doing those great Lennon-McCartney numbers. "Yesterday" is one I've particularly had a go at. Has anyone tabbed anything out? What key are you doing it in? Wish I lived closer....

Found an old hand-tabbed version of 'Killing me Softly' which I did a long time ago. It's a bit rough but I'll bring copies along - we can always do with new songs to murder!!

Another great meeting! Thanks to Tom for leading us through some tunes on guitar and Matt for sharing some great diminished/augmented licks - awesome stuff guys. I was pleased we managed to make it through 'Yesterday', at the very least we proved it can be done! Kinda.

As well as being great fun the meeting has really brought our playing on leaps and bounds and we have to pay tribute to Nick Bidmade for making it happen in the first place. Thanks again Nick! This was probably Nick's last Bar Tenders session as he is moving house soon, it would be great if we could find at least one more semi regular attendee to help ensure we can continue. We're now meeting every other month which seems to be more manageble so the next one is Sept 28th. Wether you are a brand new player, intermediate picker or seasoned pro, we'd love to have you along.
