The British Steelies Society

Just moving the previous thread into it's own topic. There are a few of us steelies in South London who have been banding around the idea of hiring a space for an informal get together/jam soon. Obviously anyone who could get here is welcome!

I don't know what everyone's preferences are but something small and simple sounds like a great start to me. So hiring a space at the White Lion in Streatham could be a good start. I imagine that there's plenty of side street parking around which would be available on evenings and weekends as well.

Any thoughts?

Sounds good to me - I wonder if a Saturday/Sunday might be a better bet that a weekday evening? It would give us a bit more time - but I guess this is also down to numbers attending. At present there seem to be three of us - this thread might attract a few more - Shaun in Croydon, for example. I think there's a player in Mitcham, too, whose name escapes me.
Once we have an idea of numbers, perhaps this will help determine a venue. We can then also think of a few ideas, tunes to work on, or whether we just want to play a few of our 'party pieces' to each other and just 'chew the psg fat'.
Hope we can get this off the ground...

Sat/Sun is a good idea but a week night might easier for those lucky gigging steelies out there.

Think I'd be keen to attend this one if it falls on the right evening! Keep me posted.

Just going to throw out a date to get us started.
How about the afternoon of Sunday 22nd September? If we can get at least 5 of us on-board for that then we can start sorting a venue I guess.
