Not going this year Ted, airfares are extremely expensive now. Spoke to Mitchell last night he was rehearsing his set and doing charts, Also doing a spot in the non pedal room. Have a great time, take it Ivor the Driver is going?

My first visit to Dallas cost £480 return, I attended several times after that with the cheapest return fare being. £320. I would guess the average(over the years ) was £400.
I had a quick look at the prices yesterday and B.A. have a return flight as low as £477 from Glasgow. Two reasons I no longer attend are the cost of insurance for old timers(even without any medical conditions) and the 15 and a half hour travel time not inIcluding travel to the departure airport. I would dearly love to visit again but a trip to Asda tires Me out now.

Billy, the cheaper fares normally exclude hold bags, Last time I looked most fares were around £7/800 with bags, booked seats. Even the round about routes we used. Eg Glasgow /AmsterdamAtlanta or Memphis are actually dearer than the London or Amsterdam direct. As you say Insurance is a major problem, as the rising cost of hotel accommodation and food while there. They have moved this year to :another hotel, but it is costly and I don’t know if it within walking distance to The good old Red Roof, but even that has gone up quite a bit in price. Car hire for us wrinklies is pretty much non existent. Nothing cheap these days, and the pension does not stretch to either :(
Even the Dublin festival is to costly now.
