North of England Steel Guitar Festival 2019
Posted: Sun Apr 07, 2019 1:31 pmThe dates for the FREE festival this year are August 10th - 11th at The Buck Inn, Thornton Watlass, Ripon, N. Yorks. HG4 4AH. About 4 miles west of A1(M) junction 51.
Times - Saturday, from about 11.00am 'til sometime in the evening when we break up for a meal and socialising.
Sunday starts about 10.30am and usually finishes during the late afternoon when many travellers have to head for home. However the room is ours until we want
Please let me know if you want to come along and we'll make a playing schedule up - about 20 minute each (more, or less, if you wish). Let me know what instrument you play; PSG (E9th, C6th, Universal or your own copedent) always interesting to check out variations, or lap-steel, in any tuning. Dobro is rare at these meetings but I live in hope
Supporters are also very welcome. There are rooms at the Buck Inn, plenty caravan and camping ('Caravan Club' have a site next door to pub, 'Caravan & Camping Club' have one about a mile away) and accommodation in our nearest towns, Bedale and Masham (home of Black Sheep & Theakston breweries) both being about 2.5miles away. There's a motel at Leeming Bar (4miles) next to the A1.
