The evening was a great success and your tuitorial and words of advice to the up and coming player on your left were enjoyed by all, I'm sure we all gained something from your visit and look forward to meeting you again sometime.
Although some members did not appreciate it at the time, a cameo role was played by another steelie from
"yon place, o'er the dyke " and here he is before ending up in the sin bin for photo bombing
That is an esteemed list that you have included me in. I also have to give a shout out to Sarah Jory (I would wouldn't I), Dave Rowland, Melvin Duffy, Ray Kedge, Barry Gaskell, Bobby Haskell, Brian Cole, Gerry Hogan, Dave Nash, Arthur James and Pete Willsher. Dave Nash in particular really impressed Buddy Emmons on one of Gerry's Newbury shows a few years back, and is an excellent player. As you say, if you throw the top Scots and Irish players into the mix, these small islands really do have a good number of truly great players who could hold their own across the Atlantic in North America.
