Jason......... Remember I was watching and listening to you, and I did give some very important advice on volume pedal control. If you feel you need a bit of one-to one you are always welcome to come up again. Remember, you didn't even have your own guitar when you first visited, I think a couple of hours here with me could really do you some good now. The round robin is kind of continuous and therefore its diffucult for me and others to come and offer the wisdom of knowledge to you while this is going on, therefore consider the above. You always get fed here too at the Hartley house, ask John Stannard..!! I will soon get his weight up again...Ha

And another thing Jason, If non of the experienced players approach you in the hour and a bit bBefore the round robin>>>>>> GO AND GRAB ONE OF THEM! feel free to threaten or use violence they are obliged to help the newbies it is part of the deal you must have seen me there helping out David H and Derek?????

of course, Guys. I just don't have the gall to go ask for help. Except from David H as I've known him a while now. And yes, his bacon sarnies are to die for! Thanks for the tips Dave, they're very usefull. I'll have to work on my volume pedal control (like I don't have enough to do!)
Dave, I'm up in suffolk around the end of April, begining of may, and was thinking of tapping Dunny for a lesson, but if he's not able to, warm your frying pan up!

That's incredible kind of you JD, but I don't own a webcam! I may investigate to see if my digital camera can be used as one. And please don't feel guilty, as you said I should have grabbed someone. just ignore my half hearted rant. The wife usually does!!!

When I went to an early meeting at Duloe, the people who wanted to learn something dragged their steels over to where the more proficient players were set up in the hall, and gleaned knowledge off said player.

At the last meeting, I didn't know who the beginners were, so it would have been a bit embarrassing if I'd innocently approached a player of, say, Dave Hartley's calibre (I recognise Dave, of course, but I don't know everybody) and offered him some of my pearls of wisdom

It's far better for the beginners to approach the more experienced players, rather than vice-versa.

Now I've got that out of the way, it was a very enjoyable day

Mark, Derek and the two Daves blew me away, (not forgetting Big John on the Tele), and showed me just how far down this road I still have to travel

That's a fair point Richard. I never thought of it from that perspective. Perhaps I should put L plates on my steel? Next time I'll come and grab you! your set was fantastic, such a great touch and feel to your playing. You should be well proud. I suspect you're better than you think you are.
