Nobody had suggested steel Guitar Rag before, John. That's a decent choice, most everyone has had a go at it by now, even the veriest beginner, surely? C'mon, guys, let's get those tunes in!

Hi John, Just realised your meeting is the same as my visit (bank holiday), to my relatives in Cambridge. Would love to attend if you have a spare place for an 'old' mate . Looking forward to meeting up with you & the all the 'boys', (+ fish & chips )
All the best, Jimbo.

Hi Jim, be good to see you..... They say the South will rise again ....must be true if both you and Uncle Roy and Sylvy coming up....don`t usually get many from down south :)
see if you can suggest three more numbers for the round robin + prefered key`s then we can sort tracks (or educate band) JD :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:

I was going to keep my nose out of this to encourage others but since responses are a bit thin John, these could be roll ons'

TAKE THESE CHAINS
BLUE EYES CRYING IN THE RAIN (A or D)
ROCKY TOP (A or G)
YOUR CHEATING HEART (E or G)

Depending if band or tracks?? I know David has tracks for the last three in the keys stated, not sure on Take These Chains?

Just food for thought! ;)

I've got a slightly 'off the wall' suggestion for a 'round robin' tune:
Let's make one up :o

I have made a generic backing track (C, D7, G, F etc) which has no melody.

The world is your oyster, you can put your own melody to it, and nobody can say you played it wrong :D

I have made a simple band-in-a-box backing track, about 4 minutes long, it would be better if someone could re-do it so that it goes round in an endless loop, with JD holding the kill switch.

Download it here if you want to learn the chord sequence and practice a melody:

Seems like a good idea to me Richard, although some of them chords are difficult. ;) Couldnt you not just keep it all in C ? ;) ;) ;)
Please dont get your coat, it gets quieter and quieter in here nowdays.
cheers mate.
Dave.
