Absolutely mindblowing Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I can't believe how good Buck's CD is, it has absolutely everything, in spades........even the backup, and production, frames the steel so well

It should be compulsive listening on the Steelie Curriculum

Couldn't make it last night either, been busy all month so not had a lot of time on the steel, that and being completely exhausted. Hopefully next month.

I bought it from Bucks stand at the Texas Jubilee a couple of years back, it came with the tab to Scrapple from the Apple which I've looked at but not attempted as yet

You can buy all the backing tracks and tab sheets from Bucks website, I bought the tab to Cry which I started working on a few years ago and got about halfway through and put aside until a few weeks back and have started to decipher again. Apart from the complexity he has additional levers which I don't have so have to adapt to my copedent. It's a real learning experience to see how he puts it all together, maybe this time next year I'll have cracked it

Next on my list is Scrapple which he plays on the C6 neck and is probably my favourite track, this could take a while

Back to topic, SSGW Tues 22nd May (though for the record I too am a big Buck Reid fan) ..

In the absence of Mr Mitchell ....so; for his and others benefit....

Last night at Gartcosh was low in number but high in quality! It felt like a 'night in' rather than a night out! Which was nice! We went back to teaching mode, from which Brandon was the prime beneficiary, though Lord Donald, Oor Willie and yours truly shared a number of shifty moves!

Though I was there on a limited budget (of time) it was yet another enjoyable night! Those not present missed a few gems!

As for Robert on the Rickenbacker Lap, there was much filming going on, I do believe we may need and MUA for the next meeting! .... Enjoyed your company as ever chaps!

Regards the " filming " I find out more and learn a lot from hearing the sound coming from my set up, this month it was a bit better even if you lot could not hear it at the far end of the hall, I managed to get a decent enough recording to work on and try to improve for my next effort
When I get out of my cubbyhole and use a bigger amp at Gartcosh it's a frightening experience and a Make Up Artist ( had to look that one up ) could not hide the anguished look on my face, but hopefully I will get there someday,
my set up for June "may" be the turning point.
Playing non pedal guitar I 've got to try and keep up with Dougie, so I film myself and try to learn from it, but for me to ever get near his playing standard will take a long time as " he's been on the telly you know "
P.S. On first reading your post I thought you were suggesting I get a M S A but I would have to disappoint you and go for a Mullen, pedal steel is out with my limits and I'm happy with " wot I got " as it's nearly as old as I am and it was good enough for Jerry Byrd so I just need to make it sound right!
