I did a twin steel thing yesterday with veteran steel player Dave Nash at a gig in Southampton. I mentioned the festival to him and tried to talk him into performing. I'll send him details today. It was great sitting side by side with Dave, and we were both spurring each other on and it took us back to the 70's when we were both gigging regularly with our bands in the 70's. Dave is a really good player. He tells me that he has a Telonics combo on order from Mark Dunn. Seeing mine was the first time he had seen one in the flesh so to speak, and I reckon he will love it when he gets his hands on his own one.

Picture sent AND £24 dues paid, but no confirmation of either ? my PayPal account shows the payment has been made to 'Hogs & Hags' but I have not had an acknowledgement of payment from the organiser(s) are they on holiday or something ?
Do they not monitor this thread/post ?

I think Digby sent me an emailed receipt about 6 months after I paid last year. Ron Kew's computer is down at the moment apparently, and he is better at communicating than Mr Hardy. I will email Ron Kew so he will respond when he is up and running.

Well to say I am gobsmacked is an understatement. We have 16 players who have committed to perform with room for just 3 more!!

Last year there was just 3 all told. There will have to be a tight schedule in the batting order, but it is doable. Who said that interest in steel guitar was dead? I am chuffed to nuts as they say.

Well that's it - we've reached saturation point as far as performers are concerned, so it's just a question of publicising the event to get the maximum of 200 bums on seats out front. There is a nice wide range of stylists on the show, so it will make interesting listening.
