 Very sorry to have to tell you all but it looks like there will be no Gt.Barford meeting now in September.....
I have tried various ways to persuade people/companies to assist with the cost of the hall .... ( such a small amount for a large company) but my pleas for help in this direction have fallen on deaf ears! And at this stage I would not be surprised to find the date already booked by someone else as the people in charge are obviously not interested in lowering their price. Thanks to all for the interest you have shown in attending................Keep on..pickin & grinnin

John, I'm sure some of the troops would be willing to come to the aid of the party if we are only looking at a relatively low short fall for the event. You can start the list with me.

Yes your right Jason it is a great shame, The shortfall I am looking for is £130 towards the cost of the hall, twood be nothing to the advertising budget of a medium sized company…. I have offered that they could put “Sponsored by …….. “ banners around the room even have a trade stand if required but no takers…… Surely you would think it would be tax deductible for one of our members??
I will make it public that I have refused help from two of our regular supporters and to thank them. Mark Dunn could not make it on the 9th Sep. Due to a prior engagement on that date but, He still offered to send his entrance fee in support and, Bob Adams has also offered some financial help to support it ….But! How can I take his money?????????

Heres a guy that comes all the way down from Glasgow! Does all the photography ! Spends hours for the sake of all of us with the forum!!! And I should take more from him? I would rather send him a tenner out of my pension.

Apathy is our greatest enemy here…… :x

Re... Hall Price.....

Postby David Hartley » Wed Jun 13, 2012 4:28 pm

I would get another hall John....
They're ripping you off with a three figure sum anyway...
There must be others...you don't need a bar, and two staff for a start...just a hall....
CD's and individual tracks available to download from iTunes and CD Baby.

Hey John I'm with David on this one. What about Duolo, That was a cosey little dive and David is right we can all bring our own poison, and there's the chip van-----oh yeah!-----. I'll throw in a twenty bill on top of my entry fee. It costs me £30 or more some times to watch one pedal steel player. At your seminars I not only get the chance to here some of the best players in the uk but I get to sing and have these guys backing me up. It's a no brainer for me. ps. I can also rig and run a P.A. system and supply one if needs be. I can make a nice cuppa tea, and I'll bake some banana cake! I'm also learning to play the Pedal Steel Guitar!!!-----In hope, Baz.

First I would like to thank all you guys that have come up with offers of help with the hall cost :) , I know there are some of my supporters that struggle to come up with even the 10 quid entrance fee, and the main help usually comes from people that can least afford it, twood be nice if we had one or two rich people in our little gathering...... ;) Anyway my thanks to all of you :D .
Re. the hall ... No compromise! we don`t go backwards... Duloe was too small we outgrew it .... and why would we want a lesser event? the facilities at Barford were exactly what we needed for the event as it was.... tis a bit like "why do you carry that big twin reverb with the huge heavy JBL E120` s in it when you could fit some nice light Neo`s in it? NO Compromise because it don`t cut it :)

Because of the extra help some here have offered I will check today on the availability of the hall , I think with what you have offered ( and a well supported raffle) we may well have cracked it........

My thanks to all :?
