For those unaware:

When they've done away wi death.

The culprit of the quotation was my old man a couple of weeks back! Pic attached! One of his better days!

Today is his birthday!

Obviously feeling he was passed his sell by date he turned to me in the car and said!

'Have they done away wi' death'?? :) You couldn't make it up!

I must book the baby sitter for January!

Good reply Willie, Amen to all of that! :guitar:

What a grand age. Best birthday wishes for your Dad, Bob. Coincidentally, it's my missus and my eldest son's birthday today, too.
Great pic btw :D

So that's what they get up to when they're not practicing!

And all we've got is Shakespeare's iambic pentameter to fall back on...

(I'll work on it).

Even Shakespeare would struggle to match the sheer poetry! (But here goes...)

HENRY VI
Look on the boy;
And let his manly face, which promiseth
Successful fortune, steel thy melting heart
And as he plucked his cursed steel away,
Mark how the blood of Caesar followed it,
But all's too weak:

MACBETH
For brave Macbeth – well he deserves that name –
Disdaining fortune, with his brandished steel,
Which smoked with bloody execution,
Like valour's minion carved out his passage

TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA
For Orpheus' lute was strung with poets' sinews,
Whose golden touch could soften steel and stones,
Make tigers tame, and huge leviathans
Forsake unsounded deeps to dance on sands.

At Gartcosh ah will no longer need my steel,
Just a nose for prose and recite the words ah feel,
As one by one they take their turns,
I fear mine shall be more McGonagall than Burns

To A Steel

Wee shiny pedal bearing beastie,
I hold a basil bar to yer breastie,
Thou disnae need to play so hasty
Wi rattlin prattle,
I wid be inclined to pick ye slowly,
When with the mechanics I do grapple

An ode tae a lousy steely

A wad some pow'r the giftie gie us

Tae hear oorsel's as others hear us

It wad frae monie a blunder free us

That's a foolish notion

What tunes frae mind can suddenly le'a us

An drap us in commotion

The reel Rabbie :guitar: :guitar:
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Gamble the green eyed steelie
Had a very shiny bar
And if you ever heard it
You`d know it wasn`t made of tar

He thinks we all use plastic
For him to laugh and call us names
He wont be so sarcastic
When his axe goes up in flames

Then we`ll see what will become
Of wood, paper and steel
cos we all use the plastic
For the tone, the sustain and the feel

But just in case you`re thinking
That Willie will let you have a shot
Just remember fella`s
Willies guitar is very short

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Do you think I have no feelings
Prick my finger, do I not bleed
Poke all the fun at me if you like
Maybe that's what I need

So Hunners thinks I'm green eyed
He said so the other night
Why in the world would I be green eyed
Over a pile of old plastic :censored:

Am I not supposed to feel slighted
Am I not supposed to get sullen
I think you may know, in what direction this goes
Thank God I bought me a Mullen.
