I'm very tempted to come and join you guys - can somebody ping me details of what pieces are going to be covered? I will be on my own for that weekend and since I won't be able to go to the Irish do I'd like to steel some time for myself. <groan>

Will that would be great! Recently we've been letting our singer Alex decide on the songs and we just wing it. We also have a list of backing tracks to go from and Alex might not be able to make this one. So I think we'll pick a few tracks in advance, maybe some new ones. PM me your email address and we'll get a discussion going. Jonathan

Been trying a couple of new ones to me, Secrete Love in F and Beneath Still Waters in D. Not sure if I'll get them into my head but will give then a go.... Saw David Hartley do these a little while ago, so got the backing tracks from David and now giving them a try.

Secret Love sounds like a good 'un. I worked up a version in E a while ago. Not hard to re-think it in F instead. Never listened to Beneath Still Waters. Must remedy that. What a Wonderful World, anyone? Or Moon River?

Barry, if you or anyone in the group have BIAB, I have an arrangement of " Beneath Still Waters " also in D which I am doing, it is much slower and may be easier to pick up. I can also send a recording of the tune so you can hear it.If you are interested send me an email to : [email protected] and I will send it to you. Hope the group is going well, cant believe this our 3rd year of the SSGW, its still a buzz. Donny.

Will,
Those two sound good for putting on the 'To Do' list.

Good suggestions chaps, I've asked Donny for the recording as I don't have Band In A Box. If anyone has a track for Secret Love let us know. I think Wonderful World is a good one for practicing playing the melody, I'll try to find a track off that too, unless you have one Will?
