Looking forward to another great steel session and all my new found friends. It doesn't seem like a year when I started out on this venture. Looking forward to listening to wee Willie

Gamble and Our Bob playing in Ireland. Hope Bob has a wide angled lens for the anniversary photograph for some of us, here's hoping I take a good photo.
See you all on the night

LOOK AT US.
I WOULD LIKE FOR US ALL TO PLAY THE TRACK FROM START TO FINISH NOT ON A LOOP, THAT IS INTRO, TWICE THROUGH THE VERSE AND THE OUTRO. KEEP PICKIN, DONNY.

Hi Donny, Terry (UK Steel) H. Hempstead here.
I was playing around with this lovely song all yesterday. I got very confused as to the best Key + modulation to aim for.
I was listening to Vince Gill, Bob Brolly (great solo from Basil) and of course Mr.Hartley.
So here's the question, what Key's is your backing track in and is Band in a box.
Very best regards, Terry

Terry, we are using D, and not using modulation as we will be playing it in the round robin of about twelve to fifteen players. It is Band in the Box.If you were playing this in a band situation the key would be dependant on the singer, if instrumental only then pick the key that suits you.Donny will probably answer when he gets in from work.Malcolm

HELLO TERRY, YES, MALCOLM IS CORRECT, NOW THAT HE HAS RETIRED AND NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH HIS TIME, HE PICKED UP YOUR POST BEFORE ME. THE TUNE IS IN D, IT IS BIAB, BUT THE REASON FOR NO KEY CHANGE IS BECAUSE SOME OF THE PLAYERS AT LAST MONTHS MEETING THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A BIT DAUNTING FOR THE NEWBIES. (I USED DAUNTING THERE SO THAT MALCOLM WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND) IF YOU WANT A COPY OF THE TRACK EMAIL ME YOUR ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND IT TO YOU. MINE IS: resonator@yahoo,com
DAVIE YOU DON'T WANT YOUR FOTY TOOK INCASE THE POALIS SEE IT, DON'T WORRY I UNDERSTAND. REG GAVE UP A SHAKY HAND NIGHT TO BE THERE, YOU MUST BE A SAFTY.
I AM RELIABLY INFORMED THAT MARK DANIELS AND HIS BENNETT WILL MAKE IT ON TUESDAY

Contrary to public belief , I am actually busier now than before I retired, I always said he only paid me half what I was worth, so therefore I only worked four hours a day for him, the other four were mine

.Since retiring I have been working like a rented mule trying to whittle down long list her indoors has for me to do.

Here's a quote from the Irish Steel Guitar Festival thread :-
Uncle Roy wrote:Just getting ready for day 2 of the festival.
Day one Saturday, great day day with plenty of excellent playing.
What can one say about J Dee Maness but MAGIC, not only a superb steelplayer but a real nice guy.
Another star of the day is got to be said was Mr Willie Gamble, the crowd really loved his performance, playing and his wit.

Well, that's no surprise to us guys, is it? . . . We all knew he would do it.
Just hope there's some video ???
