I have never been to a steel guitar club before, so I,m not quite sure what to expect, I don't expect everyone to be of the same playing capability and I'm sure, some are a lot better than I am. I attended a workshop given by Joe Wright after one of the Ireland shows, and he said that once a year for 2 weeks he went back to absolute basics and and practiced picking, 345,456,56 8 & 6 8 10. I was thinking that perhaps a small demonstration of what can be done with these basic grips could be quite interesting, not just for beginners but for more competant players also, and everyone can join in.
