SSGW October Meet

Postby Willie Gamble » Wed Oct 27, 2021 7:26 am

Last night was our monthly meeting at Gartcosh, we had a few call offs, we'll two actually Bob Adams and Alastair Hogg.
It was well attended, we had eight guitars and four non players.
it was great to see Danny Mitchell back with us.
We also had another very welcome returnee Jim "G" Gorrie who arrived with his brand spanking new steel guitar "wot e built Imself", that guy should be proud of himself. I had a shot of it and it plays excellently, great job Jim.
There was some great playing, and it was good to be back among like minded people again.
November is our last meeting of this year and it will be a "Campfire Night", so come along and bring any instrument you like.
Thanks again for your company and friendship lads

It was indeed a great wee night, Willie, and thank you for stepping up and organising it.
I was blown away with the job Jim had made of his 'BAK' steel, and thought it sounded tremendous through his Boss Katana amp, when you gave it a run out.
So good to see the faces and hear the banter, as well as the tunes. Thanks gents, and see y'all in November for the last one of '21.
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

Enjoyed last night’s meeting and special thanks to Danny for passing round the sweets, even bigger thanks for his contribution in making my set up sound better. :o :P
Jim made a really professional job of building his pedal steel the hard way by just using hand tools, that’s a difficult task without a workshop set up, but the results are very professional! :guitar:
Tony
It’s only Hunners that’s suggesting he will set off the fire alarm when he burns his MSA at the next meeting and we’ll all have to refrain from putting out the flames when he keeps his promise. :P
Willie is going to practice his “bar hopping technique” for the campfire night and reach his “goal” by putting a small basket at the neck of his guitar!
P. S.
Christmas lights are for Calum’s benefit when reading this in the dark evenings before the clocks go back!
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!
