At the suggestion of Rosemary and Rod King, the North East Steelies held their first virtual meeting via the Zoom app yesterday.
Attendees were obviously Rosemary and Rod, Pat and Basil Hendricks, John Stafford, Keith Wilson, Derek Evans and myself, Keith Glendinning.
As this was the inaugural attempt, there were a few minor hitches with sound. Apple equipment, Mac computers and iPads worked best, but even those take a bit to set up.
We all had a good chat and played a few tunes, but decided against trying a Round Robin due to the inherent lag with WiFi meetings.
Everyone has expressed an interest in holding more “Lockdown” meetings in the future. At least until we can all get back to the Buck Inn at Thornton Watlass.
Thanks to Rosemary and Rod for their original idea and all the attendees for making it an enjoyable afternoon.
Keith G.
